Creativity

Painting

This month I decided to paint with acrylic paints again after a long time of not using them. A long time ago they used to be my favorite medium. It was nice to try out the methods I used before and see how much I improved. I actually didn't expect I would like to use acrylics again this much. I really enjoy the texture I'm able to achieve in my paintings through them. Unlike before, this time I wasn't afraid to just lay the paint on and enjoy the process instead of worrying about the end product.

Activity

Running, strengthening exercises

At the start of the month, I was training on a daily basis. This was a big change in the amount of activity I was doing compared to the previous month. This sudden change was probably the cause of my injury this month. Everything was going well until one day I started feeling pain in my right shin. Sometimes this is normal after an intense workout after which I didn't stretch well enough but this time the pain just wasn't going away. I soon realized that I probably got sheen splits and had to rest my body until my leg is completely healed. At first, I was still trying to get my workouts done despite the pain in my leg which resulted in the pain getting even worst and just simply not going away. With time I realized that if I wanted to get back to serious training I had to stop working out completely and take a month or two of rest until my leg is completely healed. I'm not really happy about this but I'm trying my best not to do any exercises that cause serious strain on my leg. That means I can only do some strength exercises. From this experience, I've learned that I should never continue training with an injury because tending to it is much more important. I hope to get back on the track as soon as possible. Wish me luck!

Service

7Cups

This month I focused the most on spending time helping people on the 7Cups website. The most fascinating thing about 7Cups to me is the fact that you can take special training courses about specific problems people might deal with (special course informing people about bullying, loneliness, etc.). The course involves reading a lot of informational articles and blogs and even watching ted talks. After this, they give you certain questions about the materials provided for you to answer which determine whether you will get your certification. This month I got my certifications for active listening, anxiety, and bullying. Talking to people about their problems also helped me understand that everyone has their own problems that they deal with different and just how hard life can actually be for someone. I can only hope to help as many people as I can, and at the same time become more educated about these themes.
